Today, thankful we all across the world are celebrating the anniversary of John Walker who pioneered the friction match. As a matchbox & label collector of Bangladesh, I am wishing you birthday in heaven. May you always be remembered fondly by me here on earth no matter the distance that separates us.

However, Today our matchboxes become more functional and less artistic although phillumeny become more appealing collectible day by day. Collectors were disappointed with the quality of the new matchboxes while it comes with image which is not distinct and colorful as well as poor printing quality. I would like to request concerned manufacturers to glorify our local art and culture on Matchboxes for the enrichment of a collector.
